Another man is in jail after police say he threatened someone with a knife Monday.
Around 11 p.m., Paris police officers were called to the 200 block of 2nd Street S.W. for a security check. Paris Police Lt. John Berry said when officers arrived, they found Marcus Dwayne Hawkins, 33, who “was said to have pulled a knife and displayed it in a threatening manner toward the complainant during a verbal disturbance.”
Hawkins was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with a misdemeanor charge. He was taken to Paris Municipal Jail where he awaits transfer to Lamar County Jail to have bonds set.
