Cops bust trio stuffing entire mailbox into minivan

There are mail thieves — and then there are these guys.

A trio of ambitious crooks boosted an entire blue USPS box from a Queens street and shoved it into the back of their minivan Friday morning, cops said.

NYPD cops from the Forest Hills’ 112th Precinct spotted the dopes around 3:10 a.m. in the act of snatching the unit from the corner of 67th Road and Yellowstone Blvd and stuffing it into the trunk of their 2004 Honda Odyssey.

The men fled when officers tried to stop them, but Joadin Espinal Rodriguez, 30, wasn’t able to get away.

A photograph posted by the 112th Precinct showed the officers standing next to the minivan with the mailbox still in the trunk.

Rodriguez, who lives in the University Heights, Bronx, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, criminal tampering, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and criminal possession of stolen property.

“Outstanding police work! Our Crime Team arrested an individual who removed a mailbox from 67 Road and Yellowstone Blvd. #ITSWHATWEDO,” the tweet states.

The thieves were not able to get into the mailbox before they were stopped. Police are still looking for the other two men involved.
