A creep with a long rap sheet was busted in Brooklyn after he attempted to snatch a stroller — with a 2-year-old boy inside — from the tot’s mom, cops said.
The 32-year-old mother was walking at Eastern Parkway and Plaza Street in Prospect Heights around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday when 27-year-old Matthew Waly approached and demanded, “Give me the baby,” cops said.
He then grabbed hold of the stroller, as the boy’s mother screamed cops said.
The toddler’s father, who was nearby, heard what was going on and ran toward the suspect, according to the sources.
Waly then took off, and responding cops found him in the area, police said.
Waly was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
He was taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. The toddler was unharmed.
Waly has 24 prior arrests, including busts for assault, petit larceny, robbery, forcible touching, turnstile jumping and criminal contempt, cops said.
