Drug bust leaves five family members behind bars – Arrested for drugs, endangering children

Five family members are behind bars after a successful drug bust by Paris police officers.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Paris police officers executed a search warrant in the 700 block of 6th Street N.E. It was here officers made contact with Davarious Battle, 29, Samantha Woods-Battle, 28, Travon Battle, 25, Taymn Collins, 18 and Sandy Battle, 48. 

“Officers found approximately 24 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 7 grams of cocaine, approximately 6 ounces of marijuana, two handguns and drug paraphernalia,” said Paris Police Lt. John Berry

They also found children inside the home, according to the police report. Davarious was arrested for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, between 4 ounces-5 pounds, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and endangering a child. Samantha was arrested for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, between 4 ounces-5 pounds and endangering a child. Travon was arrested for two charges of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, between 4 ounces-5 pounds, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and endangering a child. Collins was arrested for possession of marijuana, between 4 ounces-5 pounds and endangering a child. Sandy was arrested for possession of marijuana, between 4 ounces-5 pounds.

All five were taken to Paris Municipal Jail where they await transfer to Lamar County Jail for bond setting.
