FDNY EMT to plead guilty to child porn charges

A long-time FDNY EMT is expected to plead guilty Tuesday, following his arrest last year for distribution of child pornography.

Aaron Aguirre is expected to cop to related charges around 1 p.m. in Brooklyn federal court. The terms of his plea were not yet clear.

The 34-year-old was nabbed last March after chatting online with an undercover agent and communicating a “sexual interest” in a child a believed to be the agent’s 5-year-old daughter.

Brooklyn federal court judge William Kuntz II, who will oversee Tuesday’s possible plea, earlier this month said during a hearing that Aguirre had sent the undercover agent “images of toddlers’ private parts and pornographic videos of children between the ages of 4 or 5 and 7 or 8.”

During that hearing defense attorney Oliver Storch said his client would not be immediately terminated following a guilty plea.

“Mr. Aguirre is not a public officer as firefighters and police officers are, so upon conviction of a felony, he would not automatically lose his employment with the city of New York,” Storch said on Feb. 5.

The accused creep has managed to remain on the city payroll since his arrest, taking home nearly $100,000 during the last fiscal year.

If convicted of the top charge, Aguirre would have faced up to 20 years behind bars.
