Infant abducted by sex-offender father at gas station: police

A 7-month-old girl was abducted by her father — a registered sex offender — at a gas station in Virginia, police said.

An Amber Alert was issued late Sunday by Virginia State Police for Emma Grace Kennedy after authorities say Carl Ray Kennedy, 51, assaulted the girl’s mother while armed with a knife at a Kwik Stop in Danville and took the girl.

The circumstances leading up to the alleged abduction are unclear, Danville police Lt. Michael Wallace told The Post. Kennedy was last seen driving a gold, four-door Suzuki with North Carolina license plates (FAA-1873) eastbound on Route 58, possibly headed to North Carolina.

Kennedy, a registered sex offender in North Carolina, was recently released from jail on $250,000 bond on drug distribution charges. He’s described by police as a while male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with short gray hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt, gray shorts and black and white sneakers.

Authorities said Kennedy also has several tattoos, including a skull on his left forearm, a skull with a bandanna over its mouth and an eye tattoo on the back of his hand. He also has another tattoo featuring a pit bull with the words “American bulldog” written beneath it.

The girl was described by police as a white female, 2 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 18 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-blue onesie.

Anyone with information about the girl is asked to contact Danville police at (434) 799-5111 or Virginia State Police at (800) 822-4453.
