Kids’ play place boss set up peepholes, filmed dressing rooms

The millionaire owner of a kids’ play place company was exposed yesterday as a peeping Tom with crimes stretching back 12 years.

Darren Johnson, 51, set up a network of peepholes at one of his Eddie Catz locations. Eddie Catz was founded 10 years ago and has branches across the UK.

Cops found images of women undressing during 12 years of secret filming at Johnson’s Earlsfield site in South West London.

They seized nearly 700 clips taken in female staff changing rooms and toilets.

He was caught after two 14-year-old girls spotted him filming them on his phone at Putney Leisure Center in West London in June 2017.

Johnson admitted to voyeurism for sexual gratification at Kingston crown court. He was released on bail and is awaiting sentencing.

Judge Timothy Lamb said: “The likely penalties include an immediate custodial sentence.”
