Lamar County Sheriff’s Office arrests man for Blossom shooting

More than four months after Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call for a shooting in Blossom, a man is behind bars.

On November 25, 2017, deputies were called in reference to a shooting in the 500 block of Ronald St. in the Blossom community.

Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and were provided with a possible suspect vehicle description. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located. Deputies made a traffic stop with the vehicle and arrested the suspect, Everett David Waters, a 59-year-old male on unrelated charges.

Lamar County detectives responded to the location where they processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Evidence was collected and sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab to be processed.

On Tuesday, Lamar County Sheriff’s detectives received information from the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab in reference to the evidence submitted. On Wednesday, the Lamar County Attorney’s Office issued a felony warrant for Waters.

Today, the warrant was served and Waters was taken into custody for Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm which is a felony offense. No further information about the shooting has been made available.
