A local man is behind bars after allegedly shooting someone over the weekend.
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Paris police officers pulled over 22-year-old Kenterious Dewayne Perkins for a traffic stop in the 400 block of 20th Street S.E.
“Perkins was known to officers to have an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was placed under arrest,” said Paris Police Lt. John Berry. “The warrant stemmed from a shooting which was reported on Sunday where the complainant had been shot.”
He was taken to Lamar County Jail where no bond has been set. If he is convicted, Perkins could get anywhere between two to 20 years in prison.
