A local man is behind bars after leading officers on a chase Sunday.
Around 4:30 p.m., Paris police officers were called to the 500 block of E. Austin Street for reports of a disturbance.
Paris Police Lt. John Berry said when officers arrived, they made contact with 57-year-old Christopher Lee Bolton, who provided a false name and then fled on foot.
“After a brief chase, Bolton was placed under arrest and was charged with evading arrest or detention with prior conviction, along with two misdemeanor charges,” Berry said.
Bolton was taken to Paris Municipal Jail for giving false information, evading arrest with a prior and public intoxication. He awaits transfer to Lamar County Jail for bond setting.
