A man was fatally shot in the face just across the street from his Brooklyn home on Easter Sunday, police said on Monday morning.
Jerome Spence, 26, was hit in the face, chest and neck just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday night in front of 131 Sterling St. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, police said. He then ran into the building and collapsed on the second-floor landing.
Spence, who lives just across the street, was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still searching for the shooter, who fled the scene.
