A California man was arrested for murdering his father and stabbing his mother and sister during a knife attack, authorities said.
Jose Emanuel Raselbach, 34, was booked on murder charges and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail after allegedly stabbing his relatives at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at a Shoreham Drive home in West Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the residence after getting a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and found the three victims bleeding from stab wounds. Raselbach’s father, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Raselbach’s sister, identified only as a woman in her 30s, was taken to a hospital and remains listed in serious condition. Raselbach’s mother, who also was not identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment of superficial wounds. She has since been released, authorities said.
A knife was recovered at the scene, Deputy Kimberly Alexander told The Post early Tuesday. Investigators are still working to determine a motive for the violence. It was also unclear who called police, Alexander said.
Raselbach was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, jail records show. It was unclear if he had hired an attorney.
