A former nurse accused of groping drugged female patients in two states has pleaded guilty, admitting to kissing and fondling 12 women while they were in his care.
Thomas Moore, 45, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of attempted unlawful sexual contact and one count of unlawful sexual contact for groping and kissing the women’s breasts while he worked at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, The Coloradoan reports.
Moore faced similar charges in Adams and Weld counties, as well as in Nebraska, where he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of sexual assault. He’s scheduled to be sentenced for those crimes on May 31 and his sentence will run concurrently with a 15-year prison term in Colorado.
Moore also earlier pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault in both Weld and Adams counties. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in both cases, with those sentences also running concurrently to his term in Colorado.
Moore — who managed to get new hospital jobs despite being fired for his alleged misconduct — will also be supervised for at least 10 years following his release and potentially for the rest of his life under Colorado’s Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Program, according to the newspaper.
Victims told police in Nebraska that Moore fondled their breasts while he gave them morphine or other painkillers at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff starting in 2014. He also rubbed their shoulders without consent, KDVR reports.
