An Ohio principal faces charges after a student reportedly came forward with a sex tape starring him and the school official, authorities said.
Courtney Alfred, a principal at Education Alternatives, was charged Thursday with sexual battery for her alleged relationship with a 17-year-old student enrolled at the Bedford school, news station WOIO reported.
Her arrest came last week after the teen notified police and claimed he was sexually involved with the 39-year-old principal.
Police said he provided a video of himself having intercourse with a person who had the same tattoo as the married administrator.
“He’s saying that he took video of them having sex and in that encounter, you see a tattoo,” Bedford Police Deputy Chief Rick Suts told news station KNXV. “We got a search warrant to see her tattoo, that tattoo matches the one on the video.”
The teen reportedly told authorities the sexual encounters were over the course of several months starting in December 2016.
“He says the relationship started when they were upstairs in the gym alone, that she kissed him on the mouth,” Suts told KNXV. “Since then, there had been numerous encounters in her van.”
Investigators also learned there were numerous text messages exchanged between the two and money was wired to his account, according to KNXV. The teen claimed Alfred sent him the money so he would keep the relationship secret from her husband.
Police said the school was aware of the allegations but cleared the principal of any wrongdoing.
Alfred pleaded not guilty Thursday to the charges and was released from jail on $25,000 bond.
Education Alternatives did not respond to request for comment Tuesday regarding the investigation or Alfred’s employment status.
