A former teacher in Arkansas accused of having sex with several students – including two in the same night – pleaded guilty to sexual indecency with a child.
Jessie Lorene Goline, 26, entered the plea and was sentenced Tuesday to serve 42 months probation for inappropriate relationships with four students while she was a teacher at Marked Tree High School, according to Arkansas Online.
The former art teacher will also be required to register as a sex offender.
The four students — three enrolled in the Marked Tree School District and another from the nearby East Poinsett County School District — claimed that the relationships began with her sexting them, Arkansas Online reported.
Authorities said only one of the victims was a minor, but Goline claimed she believed he was 18, only later learning that he was “way younger than what he had told her.”
Prosecutors alleged that Goline would invite students over to her Jonesboro apartment for sex between January and April 2016.
In one incident, she reportedly picked up a teen in her class and brought him back to her home, where they had sexual intercourse before she dropped him off back at the school.
Through interviews with the victims, authorities learned that the 26-year-old had intercourse with one student the same day she took another back to her apartment for sex.
Authorities arrested Goline in September 2017 after the school principal became aware of the allegations and she admitted to being sexually involved with the students, according to news station KAIT.
