A Brooklyn teen accused of fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy and wounding a man has been held without bail.
Elijah Harris, 19, allegedly opened fire in the bustling courtyard of the Bushwick Houses on Wednesday afternoon.
Ninth-grader Kyon Jackson was fatally wounded, while a 42-year-old man suffered a grazed cheek from a passing bullet. Jackson was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutor Wilfredo Cotto told Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Margeurite Dougherty that Harris squeezed off multiple shots in the courtyard, “where civilians and children were present.”
He also has an open gun case against him, Cotto added.
Harris is charged with second-degree murder, assault, criminal possession of another weapon, and other counts. If convicted, he faces 25 years to life behind bars.
He’s scheduled to return to court July 24.
