Two allegedly caught with several different drugs after a welfare check brings police to their home

Two people are in jail after police say they found the pair with multiple types of drugs Monday night.

Around 9 p.m., Paris police officers were called to the 1500 block of Lamar Avenue for a welfare check and found more than they expected. Paris Police Lt. John Berry said when officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Michael Atteberry and 28-year-old Holly Caffey with multiple types of drugs.

“Officers found heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the room with them,” Berry said. “Atteberry and Caffey were placed under arrest for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge.”

Both are awaiting transfer to Lamar County Jail where bonds are expected to be set.
