Two are arrested for separate drug crimes in Paris

Two are behind bars after they were allegedly found with drugs during separate incidents Saturday and Sunday.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Paris police officers pulled over 27-year-old Lashaunda Cisneros in the 2700 block of Clarksville Street for a traffic violation.

Paris Police Lt. John Berry said officers found Cisneros was in possession of four Morphine pills. Cisneros was arrested and taken to Paris Municipal Jail where she awaits transfer to Lamar County Jail for bond setting.

Around 1 a.m. on Sunday, Paris police officers stopped in the 1800 block of Clarksville Street to check on a parked vehicle in front of a closed business. It was there they found 36-year-old Chad Newberry.

“Newberry was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine,” Berry said. “He was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor charge.”

Newberry was arrested and taken to Paris Municipal Jail where he awaits transfer to Lamar County Jail for bond setting.
